APL Fashion Show A Great Success!

Cleveland area celebrities donated their time to raise funds for the Animal Protective League this past Saturday. The star studded event was held at The Hyatt in The Arcade and was presented by Virginia Marti College and Metromix.

The runway show included performances by The Gladiator Goddesses and featured garments by current and alumni students of Virginia Marti’s Fashion Design program. Each student’s designs were selected based on style, innovation and structure and were modeled by WKYC on screen personalities and wives of  Professional Athletes from The Indians, Browns & Gladiators.

For some of the students, this show gave them a first opportunity to showcase their work and more than 15 Designers sent garments down the catwalk.  Among them was design student, John Angelo who proudly showed a flowy lace circle skirt exemplifying the easy elegance of the summer season.  John currently works at My Song Boutique creating patterns for their signature line, R.J. Luna.

Fashion Designers Vanni Wang (Luccio Vanni) and Jackie Bertolette (R.J. Luna) attend APL show.

This much anticipated event was the second of it’s kind and drew many Cleveland Fashion insiders, as well as high profile individuals.  All proceeds from the event benefited the APL in Cleveland.

The APL Fashion Show is another example of the movement to focus on fashion returning to The Northcoast.  Events like these continue to support the initiative to bring Cleveland back to its heyday in the fashion industry and elevate the region to a fashion forward identity.
